Better late than never, I suppose…
This week’s episode is a tribute to one of the world’s most famous manga artist and illustrator, Akira Toriyama. He is known for the creation of Dragon Ball, a series franchise that is currently in manga and anime, as well as video games. He also illustrated for several video games, such as the Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, and Tobal No. 1.
Sadly, he passed on March 1st of this year, as announced by Bird Studios a week later. As of this episode, the world still mourns the loss of Toriyama.
We’ll be listening to tracks, along with covers and remixes, of video games in which Toriyama illustrated: a series of adventures based on certain manga characters, a boy who finds himself traveling different eras to save the world, and a tournament for the rights to a planet’s energy source.
Enjoy listening to these tracks as you reflect on the impact of Akira Toriyama. Perhaps you may have read on of his manga, watched one of his anime, or played on his games.
