I wanted to do something big and wonderful for this 250th episode of RE-VGM, but I couldn’t think of what to do. The next best thing was to celebrate National Saxophone Day, on November 6th.
Yes, it’s a day to honor that brassy instrument that is one half mighty and the other subtle. This day also celebrates the birthday of its inventor, Adolphe Sax. This instrument has been featured in jazz, classical, and popular music, while also showcased in television and movies. The saxophone has also been played in video game music.
For this week’s episode, we’ve got a long list of original tracks from video games that feature the saxophone, as an instrument or a sound font. In addition, we’ll follow up each track with a cover.
Prepare to lay back in your seat and let the musical notes of the saxophone put your mind and soul in a groove or at ease…
