This week’s episodes returns us to the man-on-the-street interview session, this time at Brew Game Plus.
Brew Game Plus is a 2-day music festival held in San Diego and is devoted to video game music. Musicians and bands come together to perform their covers, remixes, and original tunes. Some are familiar (“Guile’s Theme” from Street Fighter II) and some are popular enough to get the crowd dancing (“Power Drift”, covered by Kirby’s Dream Band). There are lovely voices, unique instruments, and costume changes galore. Any fan of video game music is sure to find themselves tapping their feet and nodding their head to the beat.
In between sets, I interview several fans about their thoughts on video game music, including any performers they were planning to watch or have watched. Nothing complex, except for that last question (“What one or two tracks would you put on repeat?”). I’ll also play some covers and remixes, including those from performers that were on stage the day I attended.
Enjoy some ale fresh from the tap and listen to fans of video game music speak their mind and their passion…
